- Choose a topic, research current literature, and prepare a document for an article, poster presentation, or case study
- Case Study
- There are several reasons why it may be more difficult to do a case study on a mission trip and have it published:
- Confidentiality and privacy concerns: Mission trips often involve working with vulnerable populations, such as children, refugees, or marginalized communities. Protecting their privacy and maintaining confidentiality can be challenging, making it harder to collect and share data.
- Limited access to data and resources: Mission trips often take place in resource-constrained settings, making it difficult to collect reliable data, access literature, or utilize research tools.
- Ethical considerations: Mission trips may involve complex power dynamics, cultural sensitivities, and ethical dilemmas, requiring careful consideration to avoid exploitation or harm.
- Lack of control and consistency: Mission trips can be unpredictable, with variables like weather, politics, or local conditions affecting outcomes, making it harder to establish a controlled study environment.
- Publishing requirements: Academic journals often have strict requirements for publication, including methodological rigor, statistical analysis, and contribution to existing literature, which can be challenging to meet in a mission trip context.
If you’re interested in conducting a case study on a mission trip, please consider these points.
