Focus on Children

From June 3-12, we will be partnering with Open Windows for two medical clinic days, bringing a medical team to the children and families in San Miguel Dueñas, Guatemala, and surrounding towns. Our team will provide well child exams as well as care for the acute needs of the community.

San Miguel Dueñas is an agricultural town of nearly 13,000 people. Although it is a mere twenty-minute drive from the prosperous tourist center of La Antigua, the town has a substantially lower standard of living, with most members of the community working in the local coffee plantations and flower nurseries.

Focus on Villages

Clinics in 4 villages will be conducted by the medical team, and the building team will complete a house. June 6-12 will include 4 medical clinic days in the villages near Santa Rosa, plus cultural activities. This trip will also offer a building experience; a home will be built starting on Monday and dedicated to the family, complete with furnishings and a kitchen, on Thursday (weather permitting). Local carpenters and homeowners will be working alongside our building team. Applicants can choose to be a member of the medical team or the building team.

Give and Teach meets the physical needs of 17 nearby villages by providing food through our feeding program, shoes, medical services, and shelter through building houses with our mission groups. As of July 2025, Give and Teach has built 166 small houses in several different villages for those in need. Many families are in desperate need of a warm and dry shelter.
